And you\u2019re displaying all of this great content on your product pages. But how can you get this content in front of more shoppers in more places &#8212; beyond the product page?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier this year, I led a session at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/blog\/2017-powerreviews-digital-commerce-summit-recap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PowerReviews Digital Commerce Summit<\/a>, exploring strategies for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">generating and displaying reviews online, in mobile apps and in-store to lift sales across all channels. Read on to learn six strategies I shared during the session that can help you get more mileage from your\u00a0user-generated content.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1. Include UGC in Other Marketing Initiatives<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consumers trust the opinions of others like them. So look for ways to integrate user-generated content &#8212; including reviews, photos and videos &#8212; into other print and digital marketing initiatives, such as email, social and display campaigns. For example, our friends at Duluth Trading Company tout the number of 5-star reviews they have for their Buck Naked underwear in a number of different marketing initiatives across channels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8773\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Duluth-Ad.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"475\" height=\"646\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Duluth-Ad.png 475w, https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Duluth-Ad-221x300.png 221w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>2. Highlight Ratings on Your Home Page<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Want to influence where a visitor goes once they hit your homepage? Include star ratings and reviews for a featured product on your homepage. For example, our friends at JanSport highlighted their best selling \u201cSuperbreak\u201d backpack on their homepage (just in time for back to school shopping), along with the average star rating and a written review for the product.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8774\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/JanSport_HomePage-500x308.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"308\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>3. Highlight Visual Content on Category and Home Pages<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After you\u2019ve collected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/software-products\/visual-content\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visual content (such as photos and videos)<\/a> and prominently displayed it on your product pages, use this content to enhance other parts of your website, too, including category pages and even your homepage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8775\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/UGC-on-Category-Page--500x334.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>4. Include Ratings and Reviews in Catalogs<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consider including star ratings and written reviews in printed and digital catalogs to capture attention for key products. For example, if you\u2019re an online and catalog retailer (like our friends at UncommonGoods) preparing to send a Holiday 2017 catalog, include written reviews that mention your key items being great gift items.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8771\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/UncommonGoods_Catalog-e1499867884228.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"601\" height=\"316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/UncommonGoods_Catalog-e1499867884228.png 601w, https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/UncommonGoods_Catalog-e1499867884228-300x158.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 601px) 100vw, 601px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>5. Amplify the Voice of the Consumer In-Store<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shoppers aren\u2019t just turning to user-generated content while they\u2019re shopping online. They also want access to this content when they\u2019re shopping in a brick and mortar store. In fact, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/event\/the-retail-revolution-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PowerReviews research<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> found that around 70% of shoppers would like to access product ratings and reviews while shopping in-store.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be sure to allow consumers to find user-generated content when they\u2019re shopping in your physical store locations. There are a lot of different ways to do this that range from high- to low-tech. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the high-tech end, build functionality in your mobile app that allows shoppers to scan a product while in a store and access reviews for that product. Or feature localized user-generated content in your fitting rooms <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/blog\/creating-a-truly-omnichannel-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">like Fabletics does<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you don\u2019t have the technical resources available to do that, consider featuring star ratings and customer reviews on cardboard signs alongside your products &#8212; similar to what Amazon does in their bookstores. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6555\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_2477.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_2477.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_2477-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Or incorporate consumer feedback into your in-store displays, touting the positive aspects of your product reviews &#8212; similar to what our friends at Benefit Cosmetics do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8772\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Benefit-In-store.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"585\" height=\"279\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Benefit-In-store.png 585w, https:\/\/www.powerreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Benefit-In-store-300x143.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 585px) 100vw, 585px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>6.
